Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston put her on ECMO care for life-saving treatment. Her kidneys did not recover following the onset of an infection with septicae and eventually suffered numerous organ failure. It was her new normal to have hemodialyses and peritoneal-dialysis. After an hospitalization of 80 days Angelica appeared to be dying but was on the road to healing. Angelica was on dialysis for over a decade half of that time before she was able to undergo her kidney transplant. It was her mother who donated her kidney. On September 13 2013 Angelica as well as her mother underwent the successful transplantation of their kidney in two renowned hospitals just right across from one another- the University Hospital of Memory and Children's Hospital of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale pursued her dream of becoming a celebrity for years after.
